It's a bold move on the part of America's largest waste-hauling company, whose CEO, David Steiner, has long envisioned mining waste materials to create new value for Waste Management and its customers. The new collaborative aims to help producers, manufacturers, retailers and suppliers of packaged goods and products consider the recyclability as well as the ecological and human health impacts of materials, beginning with the design phase.
Read

News: Archives of GLRPPR webinars now available

Archived webinars and related information are now available on GLRPPR's Conferences & Webinars page.
Read

News: Steps Towards Enhancing the Sustainability of Packaging

Sustainable packaging encompasses multiple initiatives, including producing effective solutions with minimum resources, protecting the product, transport efficiency and effective end of life management. The discussion convened on this subject reflects one of the public engagement components of Keep America Beautiful, which seeks to work with key stakeholders to better understand and look ahead to possible changes and enhancements in recycling programs and policy. KAB's Annual Recycling Symposium is part of KAB's continuing role to convene key stakeholders and experts from the recycling community on issues that are timely, relevant, and vital to the success of recycling in the U.S. EPR for packaging and printed materials was chosen as the topic for this Symposium because the approach has been and is expected to continue to be considered by some states in the United States over the next few years. Currently in the United States, EPR exists primarily for hazardous materials and electronics, with 39 states having some kind of EPR regulation. In addition, EPR is in place in many jurisdictions in Canada and Europe.
View more information on this resource

News: How UPS and USPS teamed up to create a new industry standard

The United States Postal Service and United Parcel Service (NYSE: UPS) have teamed up to deliver a special sustainability package aimed at reducing the carbon footprints for the world's largest postal and delivery companies.
Read

Resource: Summer P3 Interns?
