  • The Illinois Recycling Association (IRA), a not-for-profit organization, was formed in 1976 as the Illinois Association of Recycling Centers, and changed its name to the IRA in 1989. It currently has 350 members consisting of municipal, county, and state recycling coordinators, businesses, haulers and processors, not-for-profit organizations, consultants, and manufacturers of recycled-content products. The Illinois Recycling Association's mission is to encourage the responsible use of resources by promoting Waste reduction, Re-Use, and Recycling. The Illinois Recycling Association is an affiliate of National Recycling Coalition.

GLRPPR is a member of the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange, a national network of regional information centers: NEWMOA (Northeast), WRRC (Southeast), GLRPPR (Great Lakes), ZeroWasteNet (Southwest), P2RIC (Plains), Peaks to Prairies (Mountain), WSPPN (Pacific Southwest), PPRC (Northwest).
