  • Established in May 1984, ToxCo is the world leader in lithium battery recycling. From a state of the art facility in Trail, British Columbia, ToxCo recycles approximately two million pounds of lithium batteries annually.

    ToxCo collects, stores, and recycles lithium batteries of all types and chemistries from around the world. These batteries range in size from tiny button-sized batteries to 570 pound military batteries. ToxCo’s lithium battery recycling process has been approved for use by the United States Government and is recognized as an alternative to hazardous waste disposal. Our numerous customers include consumers, lithium battery manufacturers, the United States Government, industrial lithium battery users, international battery brokers, and the electric vehicle industry. ToxCo is currently receiving lithium batteries from Dubai (Middle East), Singapore, Jakarta Indonesia, United States, and Canada. We anticipate the following customers in the near future: Thailand, Australia, Maylasia, Brazil, and several European countries.

GLRPPR is a member of the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange, a national network of regional information centers: NEWMOA (Northeast), WRRC (Southeast), GLRPPR (Great Lakes), ZeroWasteNet (Southwest), P2RIC (Plains), Peaks to Prairies (Mountain), WSPPN (Pacific Southwest), PPRC (Northwest).
