Profile:

  • Recycling is already at the heart of the City's waste disposal system. The trash the City picks up from residential buildings up to four units is taken to a center where the Blue Bags are sorted from the trash and the recyclables are recovered. Meanwhile, the trash from residential buildings larger than 4 units, businesses and other institutions is picked up by private haulers, which are required by law to provide a recycling option. Visit this web site for information on residential recycling, the Blue Bag program, commercial recycling, recycling for schools and institutions, and special recycling programs.
