  • The Chicago Department of Environment (DOE) Air Quality Program includes participation in Partners for Clean Air, a coalition of approximately 300 Chicago area businesses, government agencies and environmental groups that promote voluntary actions to improve air quality.

    The Air Quality Program also includes the DOE's Pollution Prevention Unit. The Pollution Prevention Unit's programs are aimed at improving the quality of life in the city by reducing air emissions from area sources.

    The Air Quality Program also includes several initiatives for mobile emissions reduction, including the Alternative Fuel Program, Chicago Area Clean Cities, the Diesel Retrofit Program, and the Locomotive Retrofit Program.

GLRPPR is a member of the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange, a national network of regional information centers: NEWMOA (Northeast), WRRC (Southeast), GLRPPR (Great Lakes), ZeroWasteNet (Southwest), P2RIC (Plains), Peaks to Prairies (Mountain), WSPPN (Pacific Southwest), PPRC (Northwest).
