Profile:

  • Ohio EPA's Division of Air Pollution Control has adopted rules which ensure that the standards of the Clean Air Act are met throughout Ohio. The district offices inspect stationary sources of air pollution and determine whether these sources comply with these rules and regulations. A permit system also has been established to regulate the amount of pollution emitted into the ambient air. The Air Toxics Unit is responsible for developing and enforcing the state's air toxics regulations, as well as enforcing federal air toxic regulations, where it has the delegated authority to do so. This unit also performs air toxics risk assessments in the state, in addition to providing assistance to the general public with help in understanding air toxics.
