Profile:

  • The Ontario Waste Materials Exchange (OWME) is a service designed to facilitate the reuse and recycling of industrial by-product materials. ORTECH Corporation operated the OWME from 1984 to 1997, at which time responsibility was transferred to the Ontario Centre for Environmental Technology Advancement (OCETA). The purpose of the OWME is to create a network that allows waste products or outputs of one industry to become the raw material inputs of another. Through the Exchange network, OCETA provides generators with access to reuse and recycling markets, and users with access to material supply sources.

GLRPPR is a member of the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange, a national network of regional information centers: NEWMOA (Northeast), WRRC (Southeast), GLRPPR (Great Lakes), ZeroWasteNet (Southwest), P2RIC (Plains), Peaks to Prairies (Mountain), WSPPN (Pacific Southwest), PPRC (Northwest).
