Profile:

  • The Materials Resource Center (MRC), which opened in Holbrook in the Town of Islip, March 1999, is the Association for Resource Conservation's newest and most ambitious project. This Center obtains scrap and surplus materials from industry, and makes them available to the arts, educational and nonprofit organizations for pennies a pound.

GLRPPR is a member of the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange, a national network of regional information centers: NEWMOA (Northeast), WRRC (Southeast), GLRPPR (Great Lakes), ZeroWasteNet (Southwest), P2RIC (Plains), Peaks to Prairies (Mountain), WSPPN (Pacific Southwest), PPRC (Northwest).
