Profile:

  • The Environmental Health Section of the North Dakota Health Department safeguards the air, water and physical environmental quality for North Dakota. Five divisions within the section work closely with the federal Environmental Protection Agency. The staff deals with issues that affect the comfort, health, safety and well being of all North Dakota citizens and their environment. Enforcement of state and federal environmental laws is accomplished through permitting, inspection, sampling, analytical services and monitoring activities of this section.

GLRPPR is a member of the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange, a national network of regional information centers: NEWMOA (Northeast), WRRC (Southeast), GLRPPR (Great Lakes), ZeroWasteNet (Southwest), P2RIC (Plains), Peaks to Prairies (Mountain), WSPPN (Pacific Southwest), PPRC (Northwest).
