Profile:

  • The Office of Environmental Assistance (OEA) provides pollution prevention and technical assistance, information, education, and financial assistance to further improve environmental quality. The OEA emphasizes "green" technology, including pollution prevention, public infrastructure improvements, environmental restoration and protection, and compliance assistance. Targeting businesses, institutions, and communities in Michigan, the P2 and stewardship teams provide practical information and technical assistance to eliminate or reduce the generation of waste at its source or the recycling of waste that can’t be eliminated. This includes working with industry and academia to encourage the design, purchase, and use of less toxic chemicals.

GLRPPR is a member of the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange, a national network of regional information centers: NEWMOA (Northeast), WRRC (Southeast), GLRPPR (Great Lakes), ZeroWasteNet (Southwest), P2RIC (Plains), Peaks to Prairies (Mountain), WSPPN (Pacific Southwest), PPRC (Northwest).
