GLRPPR Sector Resource: The State of Rural and Small Metropolitan Brownfields Redevelopment

Title:
The State of Rural and Small Metropolitan Brownfields Redevelopment

Abstract:
Brownfields redevelopment in rural and small metropolitan areas does not seem to be happening as quickly as it is in urban America. The National Association of Development Organizations conducted five focus group sessions with regional development organizations to draw out obstacles experienced and the solutions used to overcome them. Among the participating development organizations were groups from New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, and Wisconsin. This report outlines the findings of the discussion group sessions and lists the most frequently cited obstacles to brownfields redevelopment. (PDF format; Length: 16 pages)
