GLRPPR Sector Resource: Alkaline Noncyanide Zinc Plating with Reuse of Recovered Chemicals

Title:
Alkaline Noncyanide Zinc Plating with Reuse of Recovered Chemicals

Abstract:
This document presents the results of an experiment conducted to compare reductions in the volume and toxicity of wastes that resulted from the change from a cyanide-based to an alkaline noncyanide-based plating operation. This substitution facilitated recovery and reuse of both rinsewater and plating bath chemicals. An assessment of the economic impact of this modification is also provided. Written by Jacqueline M.
