GLRPPR Sector Resource: Oily Waste Reduction and Recycling Pilot Test

Title:
Oily Waste Reduction and Recycling Pilot Test

Abstract:
Ultrafiltration and evaporation were identified as potential techniques to separate spent soluble die lubricant material from the makeup water at Outboard Marine Corporation's Waukegan, Illinois facility. In order to assess the effectiveness of these processes, OMC conducted a pilot scale feasibility study under the Reduction and Recycling Techniques matching fund program offered by the Illinois Waste Management and Research Center. Data obtained from the pilot study was also used to determine capital and operating costs of similar full scale equipment. (PDF format; Length: 38 pages)
