Title:
Indiana: CMTI/Wood Cabinet Small Business Initiative

Abstract:
The Indiana Clean Manufacturing Technology and Safe Materials Institute (CMTI) has begun a small business, wood cabinet industry initiative to reduce the use of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). Thus far, approximately one dozen, small wood cabinet manufacturers are collaborating with the Institute. The objectives of the initiative are to assist and advise the companies with regard to the use and reduction of HAP-compliant and/or HAP-free wood cabinet finish coatings, and to assist the companies in the development of HAP and volatile organic compound (VOC) inventory tracking systems, so that the companies can comply with the new 1990 Title V Clean Air Act permit emissions inventory record keeping requirements.
