GLRPPR Sector Resource: 2013 Case Study: Gates Corporation (II)

Title:
2013 Case Study: Gates Corporation (II)

Abstract:
Since Gates Corporation began in 1911, they have been searching for a way to effectively reduce scrap and defects from production processes. In 2012, Gates spent more than &77,000 in landfill and tipping fees to dispose of this scrap waste. Intern Taylor Cunningham was assigned to research quality control measures to reduce this unnecessary and costly waste. Cunningham recommended Gates Corporation to replace the current filter screen with a continuous screen changer and to install a desiccant dryer to replace the current blower than only produces hot air.
