GLRPPR Sector Resource: 2013 Case Study: Gates Corporation (I)

Title:
2013 Case Study: Gates Corporation (I)

Abstract:
Following the summer of 2012, Gates Corporation decided to do its part to save water after one of the driest summers in recent history with several water reduction projects. Gates hired a P2 intern, Kayla Wehkamp, to work exclusively on the water reduction projects that hoped to reduce usage throughout the facility by 3%. Wehkamp recommended that Gates Corporation replace one of their water-cooled vacuum pump with an air-cooled vacuum pump, install a flow meter and a float valve on their cooling tank, install a filter tank at each testing station to collect and filter water, and install a smaller vulcanizer to produce hump hoses.
