Title:
Mind the Science, Mind the Gap: Concept Note

Abstract:
In a joint collaboration, CDP, Greenhouse Gas Protocol (an initiative of World Resources Institute and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development) and WWF (World Wild Fund for Nature) launched the initiative Mind the Science, Mind the Gap to engage corporations in setting ambitious GHG reduction targets as a response to the urgent call of the IPCC to decarbonize the economy. The scientific community calls for action to reduce 20-40% GHG emissions by 2020 and 85% by 2050 to keep the planet below a 2°C temperature rise. The Mind the Science, Mind the Gap initiative addresses the key role played by corporations in successfully addressing this climate threat by limiting and reducing GHG emissions at the rate suggested by climate scientists.
