GLRPPR Sector Resource: Membrane Filtration Technology

Title:
Membrane Filtration Technology

Abstract:
This factsheet/case study from the Illinois Waste Management and Research Center (WRMC) describes membrane filtration technology, which uses "smart filters" to separate contaminants from clean detergent. This document includes case studies from R.B. White, a metal fabricator in Bloomington, IL; Eco Finish, a manufacturer of various metal parts in Montgomery, IL; and Radio Flyer, a manufacturer of children's wagons located in Chicago, IL. With the help of WMRC engineers, each of these companies used ultrafiltration to separate valuable chemicals from contaminants, saving both materials and money. (PDF format; Length: 2 pages)
