GLRPPR Sector Resource: Stewardship and Sustainability Guide for U.S. Dairy

Stewardship and Sustainability Guide for U.S. Dairy

The Guide and supporting handbooks help dairy producers and processors in their efforts to voluntarily: Communicate about sustainability; Demonstrate progress where it matters most; Create long-term economic growth; Build consumer trust. This in turn supports a growing number of buyers of milk and dairy products that are interested in this information to understand the sustainability performance of their supply chains. The indicators in the Guide are based on the Innovation Center's lifecycle assessment studies and practical input from the industry members and other experts including NGOs, government organizations, customers and academics. They can be used by dairy farmers and dairy processors in conjunction with Innovation Center tools like F?arm Smart?TM, Plant Smart?TM and Fleet Smart?TM, to track their progress over time and to identify areas for efficiencies and opportunities.
