The "Guidebook of Part Cleaning Alternatives," published in 1997 by the Massachusetts Office of Technical Assistance for Toxics Use Reduction and the Toxics Use Reduction Institute, identifies and explains less-toxic options for industrial cleaning of manufactured parts. The guidebook focuses on aqueous cleaning, semi-aqueous cleaning, alternative solvents, abrasives, and new technologies.
