Title:
Recommendations for Salt Storage: Guidance for Protecting Ohio's Water Resources (Draft)

Abstract:
The purpose of this document is to provide background information and guidance on salt storage practices that will help prevent the contamination of ground water and surface water. If not stored properly, the salt can contaminate water resources and the owner or operator can be held liable for the damages. The environmental threat from salt storage is potentially much greater than the environmental threat from application to roads.
