Light Pollution and Sensible Lighting Alternatives

Through its Sensible Lighting Initiative, The Illinois Sustainable Technology Center provides education and technical assistance for responsible lighting, as suggested in Illinois House of Representatives Resolution 884. ISTC's mission is to promote sensible use of light, recognizing that proper lighting use has important safety benefits. This guide includes links to light pollution websites and ordinances, research on light pollution developments and opportunities, and guidance for both new and retrofit installations.
