Title:
Nanotechnology Grand Challenge in the Environment: Research Planning Workshop Report Vision for Nanotechnology R&D in the Next Decade

Abstract:
A visionary planning workshop was held on May 8-9, 2003, in Arlington, VA, to strategize on how nanotechnology research can be used to protect, inform, manage, and improve the environment and how potential harm from nanotechnology can be anticipated and prevented. The workshop was sponsored by the National Nanotechnology Coordinating Office and organized by an interagency group, led by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This report summarizes workshop participants vision for nanotechnology research and development (R&D) in the next decade.
