GLRPPR Sector Resource: Water Implications of Biofuels Production in the United States

Water Implications of Biofuels Production in the United States

The push to develop ethanol could result in significant harm to water quality, according to a new report released on Oct. 10, 2007 by the National Research Council. The committee that wrote the report also identified opportunities for new agricultural techniques and technologies to help minimize effects of biofuel production on water resources. The report may be downloaded in PDF format (in sections or in its entirety) at the web site listed here; hard copies of the report are also available for $16.20 (U.S.) as of 10/12/07.
