Sustainable Packaging Coalition

Abstract:
TThe Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) is an industry working group inspired by cradle to cradle principles and dedicated to transforming packaging into a system that encourages economic prosperity and a sustainable flow of materials. The Sustainable Packaging Coalition is a project of GreenBlue, a not-for-profit, 501(C)(3) tax exempt organization. The SPC web site defines sustainable packaging, provides information on becoming a member of the coalition, and details current projects, including: the development of the Packaging Design Tool; a sustainable packaging curriculum; the sustainable metrics project; creating an online packaging design library; and environmental technical briefs. Completed projects include case studies available for download and sustainable packaging design guidelines. The web site also includes information on relevant events and news.
