GLRPPR Sector Resource: Home Alive -- An Ecological Model Home

Title:
Home Alive -- An Ecological Model Home

Abstract:
Home Alive!™ is the project of Everdale Environmental Learning Centre, Harvest Homes and Brad Peterson Environmental Management. It aims to demonstrate how we can all make an immediate environmental difference on the home front. It uses environmentally friendly building methods and materials with a focus on livability, affordability and beauty. The home is a permanent, inhabited showcase at The Everdale Environmental Learning Centre in Hillsburgh, Ontario (between Toronto and Guelph). The Home Alive web site features a virtual tour, information on visiting the home in person, a section on the technology applied in the home's systems, information on the products and building materials used in the home, links to builders' resources, and Buyers Guide (in PDF format) designed to help individuals find sources for ecological products and services for renovating existing or building new homes.
