Green Built Home

Abstract:
Green Built Homeā„¢, a voluntary program of Wisconsin Environmental Initiative (WEI), promotes green building practices by certifying new homes and remodeling projects that meet sustainable building and energy standards. The only residential green building program in the upper Midwest and the first east of the Mississippi, Green Built Home is administered throughout the state of Wisconsin and reaches thousands of homebuyers and builders through collaborations with builder associations and other affiliated organizations. Green Built Home also serves as a resource to homeowners and the general public by providing comprehensive web and print resources and consulting services. The program is implemented in partnership with the Madison Area Builders Association in cooperation with other participating builders associations, leading utilities and organizations that promote green building.
