GLRPPR Sector Resource: Find Solar

Find Solar

Launched in October 2005, is a joint partnership between the American Solar Energy Society, Solar Electric Power Association, Energy Matters LLC and U.S. Department of Energy. The site serves as a convenient, user-friendly means for homeowners and businesses to learn about incentives, the economics of solar energy and find qualified professionals who can install and service systems. For no charge, consumers can send instant email inquiries to listed solar professionals that match their desired criteria and geographic area. Currently the solar system estimators on the site encompass solar electric (PV), solar domestic hot water and pool/spa heating. Additional capabilities for solar space heating/cooling systems will be added in the future. Estimators provide detailed information on system cost and size, as well as savings, benefits and existing incentives. Solar professionals and companies can be listed by providing a minimum amount of information. Listings are free for a limited time. Solar system and component manufacturers are also listed. The "Important Stuff" section of the site helps users learn more about energy and water efficiency, installing a renewable energy system, financing a system, and green tags. Frequently asked questions, resources and links are also provided for more information.
