GLRPPR Sector Resource: U.S. Air Force Golf Course Environmental Management Program

Title:
U.S. Air Force Golf Course Environmental Management Program

Abstract:
This portion of the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE) web site describes the Air Force Golf Course Environmental Management Program, including the program process, a list of participating courses, a list of services and regulatory updates. With more than 80 golf courses in operation worldwide, the U.S. Air Force has designed this program to assist its course managers in establishing environmental management systems for their facilities. Strong emphasis is placed on quantifiable assessments; systems are evaluated regularly against baseline assessments, with updates and revisions made every three years. The program's Web site features helpful presentations for golf course managers on EMS planning, environmental health and safety, and hazard communication.
