GLRPPR Sector Resource: Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District Mercury Collection Program

Title:
Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District Mercury Collection Program

Abstract:
In 2004, the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) approved a program that will require approximately 500 dentist offices in the District’s service area to install amalgam separators. Dentist offices will have until February 2008 to install the devices. This portion of the MMSD web site describes the mercury collection program, includes the text of a letter sent out to dentists in the Milwaukee area, and provides the text of the rule. For a copy of the news release related to this program, see the MMSD news page at http://www.mmsd.com/news/ .
