GLRPPR Sector Resource: Homes Across America

Title:
Homes Across America

Abstract:
Homes Across America is a construction technology showcase developed and maintained by the Peaks to Prairies Pollution Prevention Information Center, a member of the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange (P2Rx). The site features construction practices and finished homes with resource efficient features in the following categories: Site and Design, Green Products, Waste Management, Indoor Air Quality, Energy Efficiency, Water Protection and Universal Design. You may search the database by state or feature. A list of technical assistance contacts, sorted by state, is also available. The “Submit a Home Profile” portion of the site allows users to submit case studies for two types of resource efficient homes. “Marketable Homes” are built or retrofitted for the open market, using innovative ideas and technology to minimize waste, prevent pollution and increase efficient use of resources. “Demonstration Homes” are constructed for the purposes of research, demonstration and education, and provide hard data that resource efficiency is a viable alternative.
