Promoting Pollution Prevention Through Information Exchange
GPRO Fundamentals of Building Greenvarious community colleges in Illinois
Type: Training Description:
This course teaches the basics of sustainability and the essential strategies and work practices that make buildings green. The program materials and exam cover the "green gap" between standard trade skills and the new awareness and skills required to successfully implement green building. Individuals with experience in construction and building operations will have an advantage when taking Fundamentals of Building Green and in passing the certificate exam (optional), but anyone with an interest in green building is encouraged to participate. A GPRO certificate presented after a passing exam score, demonstrates that an individual understands green building as it applies to his or her trade and enhances that person's ability to compete for and participate in green jobs.
Those who complete the four-hour training may choose to sit for the optional certification test offered at the end of the training. Certification testing is $75.00 per person and must be paid via check payable to the U.S. Green Building Council - Illinois Chapter. Certification testing payment is to be given directly to the instructor during the training.
